Ashford University recently issued the following announcement.

Ashford University has been named a Home Base Iowa Certified Higher Academic Military Partner (CHAMPs). The CHAMPs program aims to attract veterans and their families to Iowa to pursue a higher education.

CHAMPs connects veterans and their family members with higher education institutions in Iowa that align with their educational or professional goals. To qualify as a CHAMPs partner, institutions must have on-campus veteran resources and must offer other financial and military transitional considerations for veterans.

"Being a part of the CHAMPs program will allow the university to better connect with and help elevate the veteran population in and around Iowa," says Charlie Minnick, president of Ashford University's Clinton Campus. "I am also personally privileged to have the chance to help develop processes and procedures for the future development of the CHAMPs program."

Ashford's Clinton campus features a dedicated Students Veteran Center, where students can schedule appointments or walk in to meet with university staff about admission, enrollment, transfer records and credits, military tuition assistance, veterans' benefits, financial aid, academic advising, and other student services. Veteran and military students also have access to computers, printers, internet, and various printed materials to include military publications and veterans' services information.

Ashford University has been added to Home Base Iowa's website as a CHAMPs partner. Visit the Home Base Iowa website to learn more about the CHAMPs program and view a list of current partners: https://www.homebaseiowa.gov/champs-partners.
