Graduates earn 336 degrees, certificates from Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Guayama

About 58.3 percent of the 336 degrees and certificates handed out by the Inter American University of Puerto Rico-Guayama in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Guayama conferred 79 associate's degrees and 76 bachelor's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 76 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 53 associate's degrees in Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training and 30 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies.

The university enrolled 1,930 students for 2016-17, including 1,815 in undergraduate programs and 115 in graduate programs.
