About 19.8 percent of the 2,191 degrees and certificates handed out by the Howard University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Washington conferred 251 doctor's degrees and 80 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Data shows the school gave out 148 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, followed by 137 bachelor's degrees in Health and Physical Education/Fitness, General and 118 bachelor's degrees in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs, Other.
The university enrolled 8,966 students for 2016-17, including 5,899 in undergraduate programs and 3,067 in graduate programs.
