About 25.1 percent of the 630 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Arecibo conferred 91 bachelor's degrees and 67 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 91 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 84 bachelor's degrees in Microbiology, General and 76 bachelor's degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
The university enrolled 4,150 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
