Graduates earn 2,072 degrees from Rice University

About 19.3 percent of the 2,072 degrees and certificates handed out by the Rice University in 2016-17 were to students in Engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Houston conferred 233 bachelor's degrees and 110 master's degrees in Engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General. Data shows the school gave out 331 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General, followed by 84 bachelor's degrees in Computer and Information Sciences, General and 67 bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering.

The university enrolled 6,855 students for 2016-17, including 3,893 in undergraduate programs and 2,962 in graduate programs.
