About 47.9 percent of the 240 degrees and certificates handed out by the Ponce Health Sciences University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Ponce conferred 81 doctor's degrees and 26 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in Medicine. Data shows the school gave out 65 doctor's degrees in Medicine, followed by 50 master's degrees in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Other and 26 master's degrees in Public Health, General.
The university enrolled 897 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in 897 programs.
