About 33.8 percent of the 151 degrees and certificates handed out by the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico-Arecibo in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Arecibo conferred 29 master's degrees and 20 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.
But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Clinical/Medical Social Work. Data shows the school gave out 29 master's degrees in Clinical/Medical Social Work, followed by 28 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General and 20 associate's degrees in Optometric Technician/Assistant.
The university enrolled 1,041 students for 2016-17, including 647 in undergraduate programs and 394 in graduate programs.
