Cost of college went up for all students at Emma's Beauty Academy-Mayaguez

Tuition and fees rose 8.5 percent for 2017-18 at Emma's Beauty Academy-Mayaguez, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Puerto Rico students paid $9,225 to attend the private for-profit school this year $725 more than the $8,500 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 211 students received grants or scholarships totaling $889,696.

Including all undergraduates, 374 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.45 million.
