Cost of college went up for all students at Gallaudet University

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2017-18 at Gallaudet University, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

District of Columbia students paid $16,558 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $480 more than the $16,078 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 169 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.67 million and 76 students took out student loans totaling more than $413,919.

Including all undergraduates, 884 students used grants or scholarships totaling $18.43 million. Another 441 took out $2.87 million in federal student loans.
