The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Garden City enrolled 7,978 students in fall 2017, including 5,266 in undergraduate and 2,712 in graduate programs, data shows. 8.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.
89 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 8 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.
The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (51 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (17 percent).
The school admitted 73 percent of the 11,851 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 13 percent enrolled.
