Ashford University enrolls 31,546 undergrads

At Ashford University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 70 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in San Diego enrolled 36,453 students in fall 2017, including 31,546 in undergraduate and 4,907 in graduate programs, data shows. 13.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

6 percent of undergraduates are residents of California, and 94 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (42 percent) and Black or African American (35 percent).
