83 percent of applicants to Auburn University at Montgomery were admitted for fall 2017

At Auburn University at Montgomery, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Montgomery enrolled 4,894 students in fall 2017, including 4,313 in undergraduate and 581 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Alabama, and 6 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Black or African American (38 percent).

The school admitted 83 percent of the 2,474 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 33 percent enrolled.
