85 percent of applicants to Barry University were admitted for fall 2017

At Barry University, 57 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Miami enrolled 7,358 students in fall 2017, including 3,505 in undergraduate and 3,853 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

48 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 43 percent are residents of other states. 8 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (34 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (34 percent).

The school admitted 85 percent of the 5,123 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 14 percent enrolled.
