60 percent of applicants to Edward Waters College were admitted for fall 2017

At Edward Waters College, 86 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 54 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Jacksonville enrolled 3,443 students in fall 2017, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 0.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

85 percent of undergraduates are residents of Florida, and 15 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (55 percent) and white (23 percent).

The school admitted 60 percent of the 2,923 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 17 percent enrolled.
