CAMERON UNIVERSITY: Cameron University online MBA program recognized by US News & World Report

Cameron University issued the following announcement on Jan. 16

Cameron University’s Master in Business Administration (MBA) program has been included in U.S. News and World Report’s list of Best Online MBA Programs.  CU’s MBA program is one of only four in Oklahoma to be recognized and is the top-ranked Oklahoma regional university on the list.

“Cameron’s online MBA program continues to attract graduate students from across the country due to its affordability and the quality of the program components,” says Dr. John McArthur, CU President. “We recognize that prospective graduate students, when searching for an online MBA program, are focused on cost, quality and flexibility. This national recognition signals that we are fulfilling those ‘must-haves,’ and we will continue our commitment to providing a high-quality online program at an affordable cost.”

U.S. News ranked online MBA programs using five categories: Engagement, Student Excellence, Expert Opinion, Faculty Credentials and Training, and Student Services and Technologies.

“While Cameron scores across all criteria, our online MBA program is particularly strong in the categories of Faculty Credentials and Training, and Student Services and Technologies,” says McArthur.

Each full-time member of the graduate faculty in the Department of Business holds a doctorate degree. Together, the faculty have an average of almost 20 years of experience teaching in higher education. All full-time faculty members are either tenured or tenure-track, and each has received training in online teaching best practices.

In the area of Student Services and Technologies, the low debt rate of Cameron graduates continues to play a role in national rankings. This, combined with CU’s affordability, appeals to prospective students nationwide. Additional support services for students include academic advising, a campus bookstore that offers online ordering and price matching, financial aid services, availability of a librarian via online chat or email, live tutoring (available through Tutor.com) and career placement assistance – all factors that are evaluated by U.S. News.

Additional markers of success include accreditation of the MBA degree by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs and small class sizes.
