Central Michigan University recently issued the following announcement.

Students majoring in the humanities and social and behavioral sciences develop skills that are highly prized by employers: they learn to think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems. Our classrooms include research laboratories, libraries, and historical sites, while our programs feature opportunities for field assignments, internships, mentoring programs, service learning projects, and studying abroad. In addition to professional training and a rigorous liberal arts education, our students learn to understand social structures and political environments in pursuit of more effective, informed, and compassionate engagement with other peoples and cultures.
